God is Love, Do You Realize That?

John has explained so many things about love in the bible. Let's start with a simple thing. John 3:16, a very familiar verse in our mind.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
-John 3:16-

This is the biggest love ever. God has given His ONE and ONLY Son for us. A perfect sacrifice to redeem all of the human. Cover all of sins and bring us to the eternal life.

Why Love?
Now, let's see what bible said about love. The things that we must do. 1 John 4 said.

"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."
-1 John 4:8-

"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him."
-1 John 4:16-

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."
-1 John 4:18-

God is love. God is love. So I have to love others, fulfill my heart with love, walk by love, spend times with a lot of love in my heart. Say it in your heart. Do it, do it. Never forget this. This is the very basic point in receiving Jesus as our Savior.
So, keep your heart full of love.

How Important The Love is?
In the first letter from Paul to the Corinthian, Paul also wrote a message about love, that emphasized how important the love is. Let's see 1 Corinthian 13:1-3.

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing."
-1 Corinthian 13:1-3-

These verses really-really emphasize how important the love is. Whatever you give, whatever you learn, whatever you can do, is nothing without love. Love is the a fundamental point to start everything. An eternal life starts from God's love that has given His one and only son, for us.

So, What is Love?
Well, in the next verses, Paul explain what love is.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away."
-1 Corinthians 13:4-8

That is love. How to do it in your life is depends on how big is your love in Jesus. Problems in life make us loss our love. But, if we decided to consider Jesus as the center of our life, we will not loss the love. Why? Because in everything we do, everything we say, and everything we think, we will have a different question. If I do this, what will Jesus say? Not like usual. We usually ask ourselves If I do not do this, what will the others said.

So, be perfect in love.

"We love because He first loved us."
